Community Events
What are the advantages of making Park Place Coffee a non-profit café?
The events and activities won’t be limited by time and financial restraints of a single owner. As a non-profit, PPC could host local community events and provide services based on the interest of neighbors and volunteers. Many local interests can participate in bringing the café to “life.”
The long term stability of the café won’t be limited by a sole proprietor. It can continue to grow to be a community asset as long as the community chooses to adopt it.By making PPC a non-profit café, the success of the café is not dependent on the success of one person. The café can remain in the community and continue to grow under a board and a hired supervisor.
The café mission can broaden beyond the four walls and support other efforts within the area. The mission of the café can expand to include community improvement activities and seek grant funding for community renewal efforts incubated within the doors of the café, but provide services for many community interests

Here's a chance to get to know some of your neighbors and have some fun! No cash buy-in or cash prizes. We ask for you to purchase while you are here in trade for gift certificates and other prizes! This has been put on hold for the summer months of June - August, but will start up again in September.
Regular Meetings
Cup of Coffee Networkers-Portland This group meets the first Tuesday of each month, 10 a.m. Every 3 months they hold a night meeting, so please check ahead for their schedule. Anyone who wants to network professionally is welcome to attend this meeting. This group works together on networking opportunities, and working as a team to advertise, etc. “Buy a cup of coffee, networking is free.” For more information, please contact the group leader, Dawn Krantz Watts by email.
I Take the Lead - East County: This group meets every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. Membership is encouraged.
Some of the ideas we are considering:
- Game Nights. We have had some interest in Cribbage Tournaments in the past, and would be willing to set up Cribbage Nights or other game nights in the future.
- Live Music. Saturday night music. If you know of a semi-mellow group or soloist that would be interested in performing for “fun and tips,”
